The 25 Best Selling Albums of All Time (Worldwide Totals)
Once the most popular way to publish and enjoy music, Cd’s have steadily lost popularity over time
This is a list of the best-selling albums of all time, measured in total verified albums sold. This best-selling list uses Music Recording Certification methods to confirm the numbers for each entry. This system validates that a music recording has shipped, sold, or streamed a certain number of units. Most of the greatest artists of all time hold multiple spots on our list: Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, etc. Keep in mind that tracking different sales methods may produce a much larger amount of downloads for the album, for example, sales via videos, singles, or music downloads online. These numbers are not accurately tracked but would be much higher. We went with what we could verify, which is MRC album sales to individual consumers. If you’re interested in buying the album yourself in physical form like in the good old days, we’ve provided links for purchase. We hope you enjoy this top 25 collection!
