5 “The Office” Pranks for April Fools’ Day
April Fools’ Day is right around the corner. If you need some ideas for pranks, look no further than “The Office”. This cult classic provides lots of inspiration for April 1st shenanigans. Whether you have the world’s best boss or your coworkers drive you nuts, have fun this April Fools’ Day with these 5 pranks from “The Office”!
Stapler in Jell-O
I’m starting with this classic because it is, after all, where Jim and Dwight began their pranking journey. For this one you’ll need , a Jell-O mold, and, of course, your coworker’s stapler.
In the show, Jim uses Lemon Jell-O, but I like Mango better and it looks the same anyway! For the mold, I recommend this one. It’s big enough to fit your average stapler, and it has a good seal. Tie a length of fishing line to one end of the stapler so it sets at an angle. Leave the center piece out so your mold doesn’t end up being donut-shaped - don’t forget you’ll need a few extra cups of Jell-O to fill this space.
While you’re watching your coworker dig their stapler out of Jell-O, snack on these little stapler-in-jello gummies.
Red Computer Wire
This one is a lot easier and a lot less time consuming than making Jell-O. All you need is 500 feet of red wire and a few rolls of Duct tape. Make sure to attach the wire to your coworker’s computer in a place that’s easy to notice. Bonus points for each person that has to get out of your coworker’s way while they pull the wire up!
Wrapping Paper Desk
For this one you’ll need to spend a little more time in your office to pull it off. I recommend staying late the night before to make sure you give yourself enough time. Other than that, all you need is a TON of wrapping paper.
In the show, Dwight’s desk is removed from the room, and it’s just wrapping paper in the shape of his desk. This way, when Dwight goes to sit down on his wrapped “chair,” he falls to the floor. It might not be practical to move your coworker’s desk out of the office, but the next best thing is to leave the desk there and wrap it with paper. Don’t forget to bring along the scissors and Scotch tape!
Meatballs
On the show, this is a prank that Jim plays on Dwight, and Dwight and Stanley play on Jim. In real life, it’s fun for everybody!
Just get a few bags of fully-cooked meatballs and hide them around the office. It might help to have a Stanley in the office - enlist the help of a coworker to laugh hysterically every time a meatball is found.
At the end of the day, you can have spaghetti and meatballs to celebrate a successful April Fools’ Day!
Crayons
We never see this prank on the show, but if you’re paying attention, you’ll hear it in Dwight’s list of grievances against Jim. It’s pretty easy, too. Just replace all your coworker’s pens and pencils with crayons!
Hope this list of “The Office” pranks make your April Fools’ Day one to remember!
